Everything-Bagel Seasoned Chicken

Everything-bagel seasoned chicken delivers a powerful punch of flavor, yet it’s easy to make. Any time I want something delicious but there’s very little time to cook, this is one of the things I make.

Flavor-Packed Baked Chicken

Once you try this delicious chicken seasoned with everything bagel, you’ll find yourself craving it. The flavors are so intense, you might even get emotional.

Since every brand of this seasoning is different, taste test it before you cover your chicken in it. You can try it out on these homemade 2-ingredient bagels.

Or if you don’t have time, you can sprinkle a little on buttered bread. That way you’ll know how much or how little to put on the chicken.

The first jar I bought didn’t have much salt, but it was loaded with garlic. However, the last jar of it was heavy on the salt. I have to admit that I prefer the first one because I don’t like too much salt. But I think my husband likes more than I do.

The thing I like to do is put a little on the food as I cook it, just to bring out the flavor. Then I offer salt to anyone who wants to add more. Now, back to the delicious everything-bagel seasoned chicken. I’ve put a lot of time into this recipe and meal planning around it.

My husband really enjoyed his dinner because I served it with this creamy cheesy Tater Tot casserole. Add a side of steamed vegetables or a side salad, and you have a delicious meal.

You might also like these buttermilk garlic mashed potatoes as a side. This has become one of my favorite ways to enjoy mashed potatoes. Other side dishes that are good with chicken are these oven-fried onion potatoes and this delicious but easy creamed spinach.

Everything-Bagel Seasoned Chicken Ingredients

I cooked chicken thighs, but you can use any cut of chicken you want. Lately, I’ve been purchasing the thigh cut because it has more flavor and doesn’t dry out as much as my former favorite, the chicken breast.

You’ll also need softened cream cheese, melted butter, and everything-bagel seasoning.

How to Make Everything-Bagel Seasoned Chicken

First, you’ll need a casserole dish or baking pan large enough for the amount of chicken you cook. I used a 7” x 11” casserole dish for 6 chicken thighs.

Next, mix your melted butter with the softened cream cheese. Stir it as well as you can, but don’t fret if it isn’t perfectly mixed.

After that, dip each piece of chicken in the cream cheese mixture. Turn it over to make sure it’s well coated. You can also use a spoon to scoop more of it on the chicken.

Then, dip it in the everything-bagel seasoning. If you’re using a brand that has too much salt, you can sprinkle it on instead of fully coating it.

Place all of the coated chicken it in the pan in a single layer. It’s okay if the chicken is touching, but don’t have the pieces overlap.

As soon as you have all of the chicken in the pan, bake it in a 400 degree oven for 25 minutes or until it is done. (Please see the recipe card at the end of this post.)

If you use thicker meat or choose bone-in chicken, test it with a meat thermometer to make sure it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.

We love to try new things around our house, and we’re pretty adventurous with food. In fact, that was one of the things that attracted me to my husband.

When I saw that he was willing to try anything I cooked, I knew he was the one. I learned later that he saw the same thing in me.

Yes, we’re foodies! Another chicken dish we enjoy is this flavor-packed lemon chicken and orzo.

We also enjoy these spicy Buffalo wings. Just be sure to have some ranch dressing to dip them in.

Has this recipe been attempted in an air fryer?

Hi Monica. I haven't tried this in an air fryer yet. If you want to do that, cut the temperature down 10 degrees and decrease the cooking time by 1/3. Also check the chicken's temperature halfway through the process. It's done when the internal temperature is 165Ëš at the thickest part of the chicken.
