Easy Stir Fry Beef and Broccoli
Stir fry beef and broccoli is a budget-friendly, delicious dish that the whole family will love. All of the flavors come together in a way that makes the taste buds very happy!
It’s also easy to make and nutritious, so you can feel good about adding this beef dish to your dinner rotation. I love the fact that it doesn’t take long to make, so it’s the perfect weeknight meal!

Easy Skillet Dinner
There have been many times when I was hungry but didn’t feel like spending a ton of time in the kitchen. In fact, that’s how it is most nights.
Although I enjoy cooking, I don’t want to stand in front of the stove for hours. That’s why I like making meals like this stir fry beef and broccoli.
Sometimes I use a thicker teriyaki sauce. It really doesn’t matter because it’s good with any sauce you like.

It has a boatload of flavor without having to put too much effort into it. And when it lands on the table, it doesn’t stay there long. What I’m saying is that this easy skillet dinner is so delicious my husband and I quickly clean our plates. You can buy fresh broccoli, but I usually pick up bags of frozen broccoli to save time.
Most of the time, I like having just the beef and broccoli. However, when we’re really hungry, I serve it over rice so it’s more filling.

You can also serve it over noodles or potatoes. Or you can substitute chicken for the beef. My philosophy is that you should cook what you like and use what you have on hand.
If you want to increase the amount of any of the ingredients, go for it. Or if you want to add something else, that’s fine too. Once you make this, it becomes your recipe. In case you didn’t know this, I love meals that are easy to clean up afterward. That’s why I like one-pot or one-pan meals.
I have several one-pan meals, such as this simple chicken dinner and this flavorful sheet pan sausage and vegetables dinner.
One-pan meals are not only easy to make, but they also make cleanup go quickly.
Stir Fry Beef and Broccoli Ingredients
One of the many things I like about this meal is that it only requires a few ingredients. The name gives you a strong hint about what they are.
I use a pound of very thin beef sliced into strips, some frozen broccoli florets, and minced garlic. You’ll also need soy sauce, cooking oil, and black pepper.

For exact measurements of each ingredient and full directions, go to the recipe card at the bottom of the page. You can even print out the card by using the “print” button.
If you’re making this for a larger crowd, you can double or even triple the amount of all of the ingredients. Or if you want leftovers, increase the amount accordingly.
How to Make Stir Fry Beef and Broccoli
This dish doesn’t take long to prepare, so it’s perfect for those times when you need a meal at the last minute.
First, put some cooking oil in a large skillet and turn the burner on high. Heat the oil for a couple of minutes to make sure the meat sizzles. Secondly, add the garlic, beef, and broccoli. Turn the heat down to medium and cook for 2 minutes.

The meat will start to brown on one side, which means it’s half done. Next, flip the beef and broccoli.

Then, add the soy sauce and black pepper. Gently toss the contents of the pan to coat the beef and broccoli with the soy sauce.

Since soy sauce has quite a bit of sodium, you don’t need salt. However, a dash of pepper adds some wonderful flavor.

Finally, leave the heat at medium until the beef is done. This should take approximately 10 minutes. You can serve this alone or over rice. We like it both ways. If you like a bigger variety of color on your plate, chop a red bell pepper and sprinkle it in for the last 5 minutes of cooking.

Tips for Stir Fry Success
We love stir fry at our house because it’s hard to mess up. However, there are somethings you can do to make it even better. Here are some of my tips:
- Cut everything up before you start. In fact, if you can find the ingredients already cut, you’ll save a bunch of time.
- Don’t overcook anything. When it’s done, remove it from the heat.
- Use an oil with a high smoking point. My current favorite is avocado oil. I don’t use olive oil because the food burns very quickly.
- Start cooking the food that takes the longest. Add the other ingredients, one at a time.
- Stir constantly as the food cooks.
- Make sure the sauce is evenly distributed.
- Don’t be afraid to try different flavors. If you like a different type of sauce, swap out the teriyaki. If you like extra heat, add chopped peppers or cayenne powder.
