A watermelon lemon smoothie is the perfect way to showcase and enjoy what’s great about summer.
Delicious and Refreshing Smoothie Recipe

The blend of fresh, sweet watermelon and tart lemons gives you a delightful and refreshing experience.
In other words, you’ll love these smoothies! Basically, it’s delicious and helps you stay cool on the hottest of days.
Every year in late may or early June, I start craving watermelon. My husband is like that with lemonade.
So how can you go through the summer without watermelon … and lemonade? You don’t have to.
Combine the two, and you have the most refreshing drink in town. Both my husband and I agree that this blend is perfectly satisfying for both of our cravings.
Imagine yourself sitting out on the front porch or on the back lawn on a warm summer day.
Whether you’re reading a book or chatting with the neighbor, this drink will cool you off and make the experience even more enjoyable.
But it’s even good when it’s not hot out. If you like watermelon, you’ll love this smoothie.
It’s like a vacation every single time you take a sip.
Seriously, this drink is so good my husband and I both wanted more the first time I made it. Unfortunately, I only got enough watermelon to make one for each of us.
Now, I get enough ingredients for us to have them several days in a row.
It’s also a delicious drink that goes with a meal. Or you can make them for an afternoon pick-me-up.
It’s basically good at any time of day. Another delicious summer drink is this lemonade smoothie.
I’m not a huge fan of blazing hot, humid weather, but these watermelon lemon smoothies make it tolerable. They cool you from the inside out.
Farm-Fresh Watermelon Memories
I have fond memories of eating watermelon from a very early age. A wave of nostalgia washes over me every time I taste it.
My grandfather grew watermelons on his farm, and they were the best I’ve ever had.
I’ll never forget those hot summer days when he and another strong person would carry one of the just-picked watermelons over to the concrete picnic table to cut it.
Everyone would stand and watch in anticipation of biting into the juicy melon.
Even the cows in the nearby pasture stood at the fence, hoping someone would toss them a treat.
It was so delicious and refreshing. Because of this, I look forward to watermelon season, even though I have to put up with the hot weather that comes with it.
We didn’t even think about the health benefits other than the fact that we quenched our thirst with the naturally sweet deliciousness. But there are quite a few benefits.
Benefits of Watermelon
According to Healthline.com, watermelon has a boatload of benefits. First of all, it’s hydrating.

Sounds so yummy and refreshing! And about the previous comments, in Mexico, limeade is often made with whole fruits blended in; it is delicious, but it must be consumed almost right away before it turns bitter.

My son adores watermelon slices and also loves to make smoothies...only trouble he never drinks them afterwards. I'm crossing my fingers we can merge the two and I can get him to make these with me AND drink it too!

Just the juice. I've never added the whole lemon, but I might try that next time just to see how it turns out. I love trying new things, so thanks for giving me the idea.
