Flavorful Truffles

These little balls of goodness are the perfect blend of creamy, sweet, and nutty flavors. When I serve them, my guests usually wind up asking for the recipe.

With a few simple ingredients and minimal effort, you can create these exquisite truffles that will be the star of any get-together. It’s similar but slightly different from this basic cheese ball.

Ingredients

All of the ingredients you’ll need are available at most grocery stores. Here’s the list:

  • 4 ounces plain goat cheese
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoon honey

Directions

Don’t be intimidated by this recipe. It’s easy as long as you follow the instructions. I was actually surprised by the simplicity.

Mix the Ingredients. Start by using a handheld mixer to combine the goat cheese, cream cheese, cinnamon, brown sugar, and honey in a bowl. Blend until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

The combination of goat cheese and cream cheese creates a perfect balance of tanginess and creaminess, while the cinnamon and brown sugar add a warm, sweet flavor that complements the honey perfectly.

Prepare the Pecans. Line your work surface with parchment paper and pour half of the chopped pecans into the center. Chopping the pecans finely ensures they will coat the truffles evenly and provide a delightful crunch in every bite.

Shape the Truffles. Using a cookie scoop, scoop out 1-inch balls of the cheese mixture. Roll each ball between your hands to shape them into smooth, round truffles. This step is where my hands get pretty messy, but I think it’s worth it for the end result!

Coat with Pecans. Roll each truffle in the chopped pecans until they are well coated. If needed, add more pecans to make sure each truffle is thoroughly covered. The pecans not only add texture but also enhance the flavor with their nutty richness.

Refrigerate. Place the coated truffles on a serving tray and refrigerate them for at least 20 minutes, or until you’re ready to serve. Chilling the truffles helps them firm up and makes them easier to handle.

Tips for Serving

Presentation: Arrange the truffles on a beautiful serving platter. You can garnish the platter with a few whole pecans or a drizzle of honey for an extra touch of elegance.
