This slow cooker sweet chili chicken dinner recipe should remind you of something that’s very similar. In fact, it is a variation of the grape jelly chili meatballs that have been around for decades.
The slow cooker is one of my favorite appliances since it does most of the work for me. You basically just dump everything into the pot, turn it on, and go about your day.
Some people call this a slow cooker dump meal. I call it perfectly blended flavors that make a delicious meal.
Most of the time, I use my standard-size slow cooker. However, I also cook in one of my smaller slow cookers when I make 2-person dinners.
One of those is this delicious chicken stew for two. I came up with the recipe based on leftovers I had in the fridge.
Another favorite is this Crock Pot ranch chicken dinner. The seasonings in the packet of ranch dressing add depth to the flavor.
Slow Cooker or Instant Pot
Did you know that most things you cook in the slow cooker could also be cooked in an Instant Pot?
If you’re in a hurry, put all of the recipe’s ingredients into your Instant Pot. You’ll need to add an additional cup of water so the contents can become fully pressurized.
Set the timer for 15 minutes. It takes a few minutes to get up to full pressure. After it’s done, allow the pressure to release slowly for 8 minutes, and then dinner is ready.
Since I’m often in a hurry, I appreciate my Instant Pot. One of our favorite Instant Pot dishes is this taco soup that we eat with corn chips.
We also enjoy this Instant Pot lentil soup served with crusty bread.
Is Chicken Good for You?
Yes, chicken is very good for you. It is an excellent source of protein. According to the American Heart Association, it also has less saturated fat than other types of meat.
Ingredients for Slow Cooker Sweet Chili Chicken
You don’t need many ingredients for this delicious meal. In fact, all you need are chicken, grape jelly, chili sauce, and a little bit of water. It’s super easy and very inexpensive.

How to Make Slow Cooker Sweet Chili Chicken
This is so easy you can put everything in the pot in less than two minutes. In fact, you might even be able to do it more quickly. First, layer the chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Next, add the grape jelly.
Then pour in the chili sauce.
Finally, add the water, and cover it.
That’s it. So easy!
I like lots of color on my plate. For that reason, I serve this delicious sweet chili chicken with potatoes or rice and a green vegetable.

Slow Cooker Sweet Chili Chicken
The combination of sweet and spicy sauce adds depth to the chicken.

- 1 bottle of chili sauce (12 oz. bottle)
- 1/2 cup of water
Instructions
- Spray the bottom of a slow cooker pot with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place the chicken thighs in a single layer on the bottom of the pot.
- Scoop the grape jelly over the chicken. Pour the chili sauce over the grape jelly covered chicken.
- Pour in the water. (I used 1/3 of the chili sauce bottle of water and swished it around to get all of the sauce off the sides.)

- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice and a green vegetable.
