Steak and Spinach Salad
Fresh and Flavorful Meal
This steak and spinach salad is the perfect balance of light but satisfying. I love the fresh flavors of the salad, combined with the heartiness of the meat. Whether you’re making a quick weeknight dinner or impressing guests at a summer cookout, this salad delivers in both taste and presentation.

Ingredients
- Sirloin steak, about 3/4” thick
- Spinach
- Packet of Italian dressing mix
- Olive oil
- Vinegar (preferably apple cider vinegar)
- Minced garlic
- Tomato wedges
- Chopped onions (optional)
- Sliced mushrooms (optional)
Note: I’ve used other types of steak, like T-bone steak that I’ve cooked in my air fryer or ribeye steak on the stovetop.

Directions
Prepare the dressing and marinade. Start by whisking together the olive oil, vinegar, minced garlic, and Italian dressing mix in a small bowl. This simple yet flavorful dressing will serve as both the marinade for the steak and the finishing touch for the salad.
Marinate the steak. Place the sirloin steak in a wide bowl and pour half of the dressing over it, making sure it’s well-coated. Cover the remaining dressing and refrigerate. Let the steak marinate for about an hour so it soaks up all the delicious flavors.
Cook the steak. When you’re ready to cook, fire up the grill, prepare the air fryer, or heat a skillet on the stovetop. Cook the steak to your desired doneness—medium-rare, medium, or well-done. Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing it into thin strips.
Assemble the salad. In a large bowl, toss the fresh spinach and tomato wedges with the remaining dressing. If you’re a fan of extra texture and flavor, add the optional chopped onions and sliced mushrooms. The veggies bring a crunchy, earthy balance to the salad.
Plate the salad and arrange the steak slices on top or alongside for a beautiful presentation. The juicy, tender steak paired with the crisp greens and tangy dressing creates an irresistible combination.

Customization Ideas
Switch Up the greens – Not a fan of spinach? Try arugula or romaine for a different taste and texture.

Add some cheese – A sprinkle of crumbled feta or shaved Parmesan can take this salad to the next level.
Boost the crunch – Add croutons or toasted nuts for an extra crunch factor.
Swap out the meat — This recipe is also good with other types of meat. If you don’t have steak, feel free to substitute slices of chicken or pork.
