Easy Olive Dip
Although this dip is easy to make, it has a boatload of flavor. No one has to know that you didn’t work on it for hours and hours.
After making this, I’ll have to put it on my list of best party dip recipes. In fact, from now on, it’s a must-have when I make a charcuterie board.
I like to make an assortment of dips, including this easy spinach dip and this delicious zesty dipping sauce. It’s fun to have options, and guests love the variety.
Ingredients
All of the ingredients for this super easy dip are in most grocery stores. In fact, you might even have everything in your fridge and pantry.
For your convenience, I’ve placed a printable recipe card at the very bottom of this page. It has the full list of ingredients and detailed directions on how to make this cheese olive dip.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2/3 cup of mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/3 cup of chopped onions
- 1/3 cup of chopped black olives
- Additional shredded cheese and sliced olives for garnish (optional)
If you want a creamier dip, you can add 4 ounces of softened cream cheese. However, it’s delicious as it stands, so I recommend trying it that way first.
For exact measurements of each ingredient and full directions, go to the recipe card at the bottom of the page. You can even print out the card by using the “print” button.
How to Make Cheesy Olive Dip
This is a super easy dip to make. It’s a warm dip that provides an alternative to the cold dips you might also be serving.
First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
Secondly, spray an 8” x 8” baking pan or casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. That helps tremendously with cleanup.
If you can find chopped olives, I recommend making life easy and getting those. Since I wasn’t able to find them at the grocery store, I chopped them myself in my manual chopper.
I’ll put a link to a similar chopper in the recipe card below.
I love using this because it’s super quick and easy to use and clean.
I only had to pull the cord 3 times to chop the olives to my satisfaction.
Next, in a medium-size mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients.
Mix well.
Now, transfer the mixture to the baking pan.
Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese melts.
Serve with your favorite crackers, chips, or vegetables.
I recommend providing small plates or bowls and a serving spoon so everyone can scoop out as much as they want.
Otherwise, they’ll be hovering over the snack table and blocking everyone else. And they might have a difficult time overcoming the urge to “double dip.” You definitely don’t want that.
More Party Recipes
Whether you’re getting together with friends or hanging out with the family, it’s fun to put out some party food. After all, there’s always something to celebrate, right?
Our family loves these deviled eggs. They’re super easy to make, especially when you “boil” the eggs in an air fryer.
We also enjoy these slow cooker marinated mushrooms. Sometimes I put them in other dishes, while other times I serve them all by themselves. Either way, they always get gobbled up very quickly.
Any sporting event on TV is better with these oven-baked Buffalo wings. They’re super easy to make, so there’s no reason not to.
Another favorite around here is a big bowl of these roasted pecans. Roasting them enriches the flavor and really brings out the nuttiness.
You might also enjoy these southern sweet corn fritters from the Julia’s Simply Southern blog. I have a feeling Julia can throw a great party with food like this!
If you like dipping, you’ll love this variety of potato chip dip recipes with sour cream.
These classic sausage balls only have 3 ingredients, and you can make them the regular way or gluten free!
Add bacon to anything to make it better. If you’ve never had stuffed cherry tomatoes, this recipe with crumbled bacon is amazing!
Speaking of bacon, you, your family, and all of your guests will love these bacon wrapped potato wedges. How many ways can you say yum?
Hearty Party Food
A lot of times, I like to serve or bring something substantial to a get-together. This chili con carne is always a favorite.
Another delicious type of chili is this white chicken chili. Serve both versions of chili with a side of tortilla chips and plenty of toppings.
We also like these mini stuffed peppers. I consider them a finger food. But if that makes you uncomfortable, eat them with a fork.
Delicious Sweet Treats
Don’t forget about the sweets. Any party table needs something to top off the party food, and this rocky road fudge is just the thing. It has incredible texture and creaminess that only adds to its amazing flavor.
If you’re a peanut butter junkie like I am, you’ll want to make this yummy 2-ingredient peanut butter fudge. When I make it, I have to make sure there are others around to keep me from devouring the entire batch in one sitting.
Any time you’re in the mood for pie, this creamy no-bake cherry lime pie will satisfy you in the most delicious way. It has a wonderful balance of sweet and tart that will have everyone asking for your recipe.
